Simbed began in 2009 and since then we have developed, improved and grown. We have learnt so much along the way and have used this knowledge to make the bedding the best it can be. We have evolved every aspect of Simbed from the machinery used to produce it, to the bags we put it in.
When you buy Simbed you are dealing directly with the people who have grown and harvested the straw, milled and dust extracted it, and baled it into the Simbed bags.
We are a small farming family from Chesterfield who all work together to produce and sell Simbed.
David and Andrew, father and son, work together in the production of Simbed from drilling the seed to grow the oilseed rape through to the delivery of Simbed to our customers.
Making Simbed would be very difficult without the hard work and support of Pete, David’s brother, and John, who is Catherine’s cousin and Andy’s childhood friend.
If you come to the farm to buy Simbed you will most likely meet Wendy, David’s wife.
Catherine, Andrew’s wife, takes responsibility for the office side of Simbed, replying to your emails and looking after the website and facebook page.
Of course we can’t forget to mention Jack, Hayley and Sophie, who are Andrew and Catherine’s children, and the future of Simbed.
